  • In my humble opinion, the Corona Meadows Park Unisphere is the most under-appreciated landmark in all of NYC. It is hard to convey its size in a photograph, but in real life it truly dwarfs as well as awes you.
  • Yes, it is true - western Queens is in fact the beginning of Long Island, even if this picture taken at Gantry State Plaza does not exactly resemble suburbia and lies far from the Nassau County border. Fun fact: I lived in this neighborhood for seven years and loved it. And oh yeah - none of those towering apartment buildings existed back then!
